We become members of Servas in May 2009, prior to our round the world trip which included Japan. We come from Poland and had not previously travelled in Japan so it was very important to us to meet and get to know some real Japanese people, Japanese culture and customs. Several people promptly responded to our letters and in October 2009 we stayed with four different host:
Nobuaki/Tokyo
Seizou /Nagasaki-shi
Shuji and Yoko /Kyoto
Sachie/Hiroshima-shi
We are amazed by the incredible hospitality and generosity of all the hosts. Every time we arrived in a new place, we were picked up from the station, we shared traditional Japanese meals, we were shown around the area, we talked about Japan and travelling, we were even taken to a traditional onsen by one of the hosts.
A wonderful experience! We loved Japan and will definitely come back one day to your beautiful country, modern yet traditional, always clean and welcoming!
